Parametric amplification of topological interface states in synthetic Andreev bands

چکیده

A driven-dissipative nonlinear photonic system (e.g. exciton-polaritons) can operate in a gapped superfluid regime. We theoretically demonstrate that the reflection of linear wave on this is an analogue Andreev electron superconductor. normal region surrounded by two superfluids found to host Andreev-like bound states. These states form topological synthetic bands versus phase difference between superfluids. Changing width allows invert band topology and create "interface" Instead demonstrating crossing, are attracted non-linear non-Hermitian coupling bosonic systems which gives rise self-amplified strongly occupied state.

Andreev Bound-states of vortices and surfaces in topological superconductors

We propose an experimental way to determine the pairing states for the unconventional superconductor CuxBi2Se3. Using the spectral polynomial expansion method, we numerically calculate the local density of states (LDOS) in the multi-orbital tight-binding model and analytically obtain the zero-energy solution around a vortex. Both calculations reveal that a quantized vortex is spin-polarized for...

Topological states in synthetic dimensions

There recently has been a large-scale effort to realise analogues of topological insulators with ultracold atoms. For this case, atoms are to be thought of as the electrons in the material, while standing light waves replace the ionic crystal lattice comprising the solid. The first realisation of topological edge states in an atomic gas was reported recently [2]. The interpretation, however, ha...

Topological growing of Laughlin states in synthetic gauge fields.

We suggest a scheme for the preparation of highly correlated Laughlin states in the presence of synthetic gauge fields, realizing an analogue of the fractional quantum Hall effect in photonic or atomic systems of interacting bosons. It is based on the idea of growing such states by adding weakly interacting composite fermions along with magnetic flux quanta one by one. The topologically protect...

Majorana fermions and exotic surface Andreev bound states in topological superconductors: application to Cu(x)Bi2Se3.

The recently discovered superconductor Cu(x)Bi2Se3 is a candidate for three-dimensional time-reversal-invariant topological superconductors, which are predicted to have robust surface Andreev bound states hosting massless Majorana fermions. In this work, we analytically and numerically find the linearly dispersing Majorana fermions at k=0, which smoothly evolve into a new branch of gapless surf...
